The Republic Frigate, like many ships of the Star Wars Universe, has an alternate name, and it's one of the better sounding ones no doubt, The Charger c70 Retrofit. Being the predecessor to the CR-90 it's got a classic Star Wars look and in fact this ship ended up being an excellent addition to the Republic Navy.
